From Teeth and Tongue

Just keep reading on. This is fresh current news that gets more interesting with each article. The writer Beverly Griffin Shippy is an on the edge writer who has been censored for far to long. So the writers flame in me burns constantly. Various newspapers I wrote for in the past have selectively decided not to print my articles for reasons un -becoming to me.

I'm not going to cry foul play. I'm going to solve that problem by continuing to write.

Just read on!!!!!

The BP oil leak.

The British Petroleum oil leak is the latest tragedy to hit The Big Easy(New Orleans). This oil leak is now in its 6th week after the April 20th oil leak explosion that killed 11 workers. BP has failed to significantly stop the worst spill in US history. An oil cap that was placed to plug up a leaking hole has collected approximately 252,000 gallons of oil as of Friday June 4, 2010. It's first full day of use. According to Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen. The well has leaked 22 million gallons to 47 million gallons since the crisis began according to government estimates. The oil has now reached the shores of Alabama, Louisiana,Mississippi and Florida. It has turned marshlands in DEATH ZONES for wildlife. Some are saying it brings to mind the plagues and punishments of the Bible. This information was pulled from the wires of The ASSOCIATED PRESS by writers Melissa Nelson and Holbrook Mohr. Contributing to this report are AP writers Greg Bluestein in Grand Isle, La.; Eileen Sullivan in Washington; Paul J Webber in Houston; Ray Henry in New Orleans; and Jay Reeves in Theodore, Alabama.

My BLOG says BP with its massive tankers and bottomless money pits, must stay in the state of Louisiana at least until the early beginning of 2011, to make sure 98% of the oil has been cleaned up. The fishermen depend on the gulf as a financial producing vehicle for their families survival. These men and a few women are professionals by trade. The same families are generational . This is all they know. The sea and how to catch fish. The next time you sit in a resturant and eat anything that is salt water and or fresh water entrees. Give thanks to a fisherman.

The sad part about this BP fallout is most people did not realize that these large oil tankers just do not have a back up plan for explosions out at sea.

These oil conglomerates apparently have a nonchalant attitude about accidents in the worlds waters. All they care about is dropping their loads and getting back to reload again. Any incident that happens along the way is just an o o oops. The oceans eco systems and the mammals, corals, fish, birds, etc. and everything else that depends on the ocean for survival is doomed. Thank goodness for the thousands of volunteers in those gulf coast states that are assisting in the efforts to clean up the coast line and the birds etc. that are beginning to wash ashore. These volunteers are helping preserve life.

My only wish for now, is our government does not allow BP to raise fuel prices at the pumps. My other wish list is for our government to force any oil tanker coming into US territory to show the blue prints for a hole plugging disaster. These tankers must have plans on board and the equipment in tow, to quickly get started, with patching up all damages to these steel floating, monster tanker, ships of the seas.

The Big Easy isn't so easy anymore to mirror into. Just a few years ago Katrina came through and re -shaped the bayou state into ruins. Now here comes BP. Who's next.
